Conception of a release management process for a midsized energy provider in North-Rhine Westfalia
Scope of services and procedure:
Conception of a release management process for the control of software distribution. Development of a software life cycle. Defining roles and quality assurance processes.
Set up a NetInstall environment for an IT service provider in North-Rhine Westfalia
Scope of services and procedure:
Project conception and implementation of a NetInstall Suite for approx. 600 clients. Migration support and packaging.
Set up and implementation of a Scripting Factory for an insurance group in North-Rhine Westfalia
Scope of services and procedure:
Packaging of approx. 800 applications, of which approx. 90 server products were repackaged on the basis of MSI packages.
Special features:
Developing a script for fat and thin clients, high quality demands on the scripts, which were developed based on the guidelines of a styleguide developed by ptecs.
Implementation of a software distribution solution with NetInstall at a Swiss bank
Scope of services and procedure:
5.500 clients were equipped with new hardware and software. Every workplace had to be installed with the operating system and the assigned applications within four hours.
Following the requirement analysis, the development of a concept for the entire infrastructure, including setting up an active directory and its implementation was completed.
Special features:
The previous self-developed tools for the software administration and inventory had to be integrated into the new solution so that the retraining time for the administrative personnel could be kept as short as possible.
Conception of a new IT strategy for a public service user with 2.800 clients at 85 locations
Scope of services and procedure:
TCO analysis of the existing IT structure and definition of the target environment on the basis of a Server Based Computing architecture.
Organisation advice for setting up a service organisation.
Rough concept and ROI examination for the server consolidation and integration of PDAs in the new IT architecture.

Establishing a software distribution solution for a mixed fat/thin client environment (conception, implementation, test, documentation) for 450 users.
Special features:
The "leading" system (user data, application data, machine data, etc.) is a host system, which provides data for the Windows world.
Target systems (fat clients and terminal server) are installed " at the push of a button ", including hotfixes, security settings and 45 business applications (MS Office, Internet Explorer 6.0, etc.). Implementation of release management processes.
Conception and implementation of a Citrix Metaframe environment for the DEVK insurance company, Cologne with 150 applications and NetInstall control for fat and thin clients
Scope of services and procedure:
Realisation (conception, implementation, test, documentation) of an integrated fat and thin client environment for 2.500 Clients.
Special features:
19 regional head offices were integrated. Through the smooth migration onto a terminal server solution, the DEVK achieved high cost reduction in work place administration.
Development of a Linux-based Remote Control Client for the DEVK insurance company, Cologne
Scope of services and procedure:
Realisation (conception, implementation, test, documentation) of a Linux Client for the operation on approx. 2.500 Clients.
Special features:
The Linux Client system had to be centrally administrable and controllable. The Linux client is automatically started in the network through a network card's boot prom. An equipment hardware identification (of over seven different hardware platforms) takes place. The Linux client automatically configures itself onto the different hardware platforms. The Linux Kernel was adjusted so that it runs on a 486 System with 12 MB RAM.
Setting up a software distribution solution for a steel company
Scope of services and procedure:
Setting up a software distribution solution for 600 users. Improvement and implementation of automatic procedures for system management. Integration of a shared thin/fat client environment.
Rollout of 5.500 SAP users on terminal servers and NetInstall control for fat and thin clients for a producer of high quality electrical household appliances
Scope of services and procedure:
Realisation (conception, implementation, test, documentation) of a terminal server system for 5.500 clients.
Special features:
Centralized system used to connect sales centres and factories with SAP software and general office software, approx. 40 applications (MS Office, Internet Explorer 5.5, etc.)
Execution of the largest terminal server project in Europe at the computer centre of the revenue office of North-Rhine Westfalia (RZF), Dusseldorf with NetInstall control for fat and thin clients
Scope of services and procedure:
Realisation (conception, implementation, test, documentation) of a ReCoB system for 14.000 clients (Windows-based terminals and 2.000 Windows 3.1 Workstations).
Special features:
The project for the RZF was at times the largest terminal server project in Europe. Approx. 680 terminal servers were integrated in 150 branch offices.
Introduction of a push-button management solution at a world wide operating firm with its headquarters in Switzerland
Scope of services and procedure:
After the introduction of a software distribution solution, operating system installation, applications distribution, as well as inventory-taking was automated for the 2.500 clients. In this way a cost reducing standard could be achieved.
Special features:
In the framework of the afore-mentioned project, a faster and centrally-executed rollout of security patches was rendered possible, in order to permanently close security holes.
